Teeple Architects and Studio Munge to Collaborate on Nobu Toronto Development

Nobu Hospitality has announced plans to launch a new mixed-use complex along Mercer Street in Toronto’s Entertainment District. Developed by Madison Group and Westdale Properties, Nobu Toronto will include Canada’s first Nobu hotel and restaurant. Toronto-based firms Teeple Architects and Studio Munge will respectively execute the architecture and interiors of the project, which will comprise two 49-story towers and 700 residential suites. Pre-construction sales for Nobu Toronto Residences will begin this summer. No completion date has been announced.

The towers will be constructed above the existing Pilkington Glass factory and incorporate its facade into the design. A two-story, 15,069-square-foot Nobu restaurant will also debut with a signature bar lounge, outdoor seating, and chic private dining rooms. The towers’ podium will house indoor-outdoor amenities including retail, flexible private event and meeting space, a fitness center, and an outdoor Zen garden terrace.

Studio Munge received a 2017 Interiors Award from Contract for its design of the FIGO restaurant in Toronto, just two blocks from the Nobu site.
